Founded in 2023 by Varun Singh Parihar and Mahima Gehlot, Kinoku is a coming together of two distinct yet complementary journeys. Varun is an industrial designer trained at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. His work blends a deep respect for materials and traditional techniques with a thoughtful approach to functionality and modern living. Mahima, a lawyer by training and a craft enthusiast at heart, brings clarity, vision, and a shared love for artful living.

The name ‘Kinoku’ draws inspiration from the Japanese word Kinoka—the lingering fragrance of wood—and the words Kin (precious, like gold) and Oku (home). These meanings echo our core values: a deep love for material, a profound respect for technique, and a caring devotion to the craft.

Every Kinoku piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans using honest materials—often solid wood—shaped through a combination of traditional methods and refined technology.
